One mass

Life

On march 16th the techs and I were suppose to go to Seattle and see the red hot chili peppers, that's not what happened. I went into surgery to remove a cyst that was attached to my left ovary.

The surgery went well, there wasn't any complications. The cyst was 6 liters (gallon and a half) of liquid, and it was 30cm (a foot) big.

About 5 days later I went to the doctor to get my staples out. I had 19 all together (The nurse left 1 in. She didn't see it when she was removing the others). About 2 weeks went by and I was healing along and then my wound was leaking some red and yellow liquid (it didn't smell). I was freaking out because I wasn't sure if that was normal or not. Kommandant told me I had to call the doctor and find out if I needed to go to the emergency room. They told me to place a pad on it and then come in on Monday.

Went in on Monday and got to talk to the doctor. She looked at it and the wound was healing from the outside in. So the liquid was normal. The wound had healed at the very top and the middle. The only parts that didn't was the upper middle part and the very bottom (it was like a drain). Kommandant went with me and she poked around inside of my wound to open it up and then packed it up with this packing strips. Kommandant got to pack my wound 2 times a day (I am so lucky to have someone to do that to me.).

They told me to get up and moving so that I can build my stamina up. So about two times a day either Knittech or Kommandant would walk me around the block. We started off with the small block which took so much out of me each time we would walk it.

About week 4 Kommandant didn't have to pack the wound any more. We did have to put a pad over it because I was still having a little leakage. Week 5 came and went and we stopped putting a pad down so that it could have all the air it wanted. Week 6 came and that's when I was sleeping and I scratched my scar in the middle and opened it up. I'm waiting for that to heal and I'm doing everything in my power from not scratching it.

We had the last doctors appointment on week 6 and she said that everything looks great and that it is 100% healed. I still have scabs on it and I have the middle part to heal. But I'm happy that it is done and over with.

oh my

Kommandant and I want to have a child. Since nothing has been happening I thought that I should get go to the doctor. I found a new doctor and told him what I wanted to do. He said okay and sent me to go to an ultrasound of my ovaries. The tech sent a lot of time looking at my right ovary. Since it was a tech doing the test they didn't say a thing to me and I had to make an appointment with my doctor to find anything out.

I went to the doctor and he said that he wanted me to do a CT. He said that there was a mass and he wanted to get a better idea of what it was. Maybe it was a hormone secreting tumor or it could be apart of the PCOS that they are 99.999% sure that I have. So I wait and wait and call the doctors office to see if I could schedule an appointment myself because they were taking so long; they told me I had to wait because they had to get an authorization from the insurance. (They told me when they called that they didn't need one) so I get in to do it and the gal that was the tech was really nice. As soon as I go to get dressed she told me to wait because they were having computer problems and I might have to do the test again. But they figured it out.

The results came in and the doctor sent me an email because I didn't want to waste my time and get an appointment. The email said that there was indeed a mass near my left ovary and he was going to refer me to a gynecologist to help me with my issue of a mass.

So the waiting game began again. I had to wait for the new doctors office to call me and set an appointment up. They called the next day or something like that. They had someone cancel their appointment and I got the appointment. I went and talked with the doctor and they did an examination and I have to have surgery to get the 30cm mass removed (the mass is the size of my belly.). They want to do it quickly so that it is out of me. They did a blood tests and made sure that it isn't cancerous. (It's not)

The surgery is going to be on the 16th of March. (I'm not happy because Knittech and I were suppose to spend a week in Seattle going to a concert and enjoying out time). Knittech is going to take me to the hospital and help me recover from this.

I told Mr. Boss Man and he wasn't happy because he relays on me a lot because I'm pretty much the only one that bends over backwards to help. I told my staff that I'm not going to be here for 4 weeks and I needed them to help Mr. Boss Man out. I'm afraid that they aren't going to help.

After telling Mr. Boss Man the news I went home and I drank a whole bottle of wine myself.  It was not a smart idea but that's what I wanted to do.

How did we get here?

One of my resolutions this year is to get checked out by the doctor and make sure everything in my reproductive system is fine. I wanted to confirm that I have PCOS. The last doctor I went to said that she was 99.999% sure that I had it and that I didn't need any tests to confirm it. All I had to do was loose weight and take metformin and I needed to loose weight.

My goal in life is to have a child by the time I'm 30. So I went to a different doctor last month and told him my goal. The first thing he did was he wanted to 100% confirm that it is PCOS. So I had a blood test to check my hormone levels. I was expecting a phone call with results, a letter came in the mail with the results. (I really liked that). The next step is getting an ultrasound done on my ovaries to see if there are masses on or in them. (The doctor said that I would get a phone call to set the appointment up and nothing happened for a week and I called them and set up the appointment myself. At least it got done.)

One of the things that I didn't like about the doctor was that he kept saying that I am obese. He could have said overweight. I'm not going to nitpick that issue with the doctor.
